No, none of the Barcelona passes analyzed in this guide include public transportation.
Passes for public transportation (metro, buses and/or trains) must be made separately, through the Hola Barcelona (BCN) Travel Card.
A card for public transportation that allows unlimited travel on Barcelona's transportation network, for the entire planned duration, which ranges from 48 hours to 120 hours (2 - 5 days).

How does the All-Inclusive Pass work?

Once the validity of the pass is chosen, it will be activated upon visiting the first attraction visited. That will be the first day the pass is valid.
The All-Inclusive Pass considers the entire calendar day, not a 24-hour period. Therefore, if you visit the first attraction in the afternoon and activate the pass, it means you will miss a morning of sightseeing.
So, in case you arrive in the city in the afternoon or later, consider activating it the next day to avoid wasting a day of validity.

Once the pass is activated, it will count as the first day. The days included in your All-Inclusive Pass must be used consecutively.

From an economic point of view, yes, it is very convenient.
Let's do a quick count.
The average price of tourist attractions in Barcelona is about €40.
That's an average; the most expensive ones are around €60-70, and the least expensive experiences around €20-25 (for example, the France/Andorra bus excursion alone is worth €129, and is included in the pass).

Let's take an average stay of 3 days as an example.
With a leisurely itinerary, let's assume we see 3 attractions per day, so 9 total attractions (let's make it 8 with margin): I would spend without a pass on average €40*8 =€320.
Taking the 3-day All Inclusive Plus Pass, I spend - between offer prices and discount codes - about €210 (adult).
The math is soon done: €320-€210 = €110 savings per person.

With the Pass, do I skip the queues?

It depends on the case. Some attractions offer pass holders dedicated access or a fast track at the ticket office: when available, this also reduces waiting time.

When is Explorer Pass worthwhile?

Economically it already pays off from its smallest cut, with visits to 3 attractions.

Let us again do a practical account.
The average cost of an attraction in the Spanish capital is always estimated at €40. This is an average; the most famous and expensive ones go up to about €60 per single admission.
With three attractions visited, we would pay about €120 in entrance fees. Although, choosing the most famous and expensive ones, I would spend far more.

Explorer Pass from 3 attractions, given the actual price between discounts and discount code, I pay it about €108 on average.
With a small savings yes, but present, of about €12 for each pass.

If we make the case with the 7 attractions, without the pass I would pay 7*€40 = €280, while the 7-option Explorer Pass (discounted) costs me about €180, with a good €100 or so savings per person.
Its saving capacity is thus maximized on the larger denominations, from 5-7 attractions.

Looking at the logic of pass operation, in my opinion it is interesting to evaluate it in the following cases:

• vacation with a desire to have a moderate itinerary, including a maximum of 7 attractions, for reasons of approach or time available.
• you have visited Barcelona before, with its TOP attractions, and therefore have fewer things you miss to see to focus on (unless you want to revisit everything)
• stay a few hours or days in the city, and you would not physically have time to see more than 7 attractions

When is Pass Essentials worthwhile?

To analyze it from an economic point of view, different considerations need to be made compared to previous passes.
Pass Essentials (adult), between basic discounts and discount code, is purchased at about €80, for 3 attractions.
So the price paid for each attraction is €26 approximately.

Savings vary depending on the attractions you choose to include in the pass: if the ticket price of the single attraction you choose is greater than €26 you have a savings, if less of course not.
Although counting on the overall savings does done on the 3 attractions: it may be that for 2 you save and for one you do not, but overall the savings is positive.
It should be avoided when the sum of the individual ticket prices of the 3 attractions is equal to or less than the price of the pass, simple.

• you want to visit Barcelona's TOP attractions included (Sagrada Familia or Park Guell) with a guided tour, which greatly increases their perceived value compared to a stand-alone visit
• you have visited Barcelona before, with its TOP attractions, and therefore have a few things you miss to see, or would like to see again
• stay a few hours or days in the city, and you would not physically have time to see more than 3 attractions
• you are on a cruise to Barcelona, and in the one day you have available you make 3 of the attractions included in the pass fit inside

• Go City's Pass Essentials includes a visit to Sagrada Familia and Park Guell with a guided tour included, which is an important added value in understanding the attractions.
• Tiqets' cards have 10% discount on additional attractions, so it is expandable and simultaneously increases the capacity for savings
• The audio guide is only present in Tiqets cards.
• At the reservation level, we can consider them to be quite equivalent, at least in the top attractions that are the ones with the highest attendance.
• Go City passes are refundable within 30 days and can be used within one year of purchase, Tiqets passes are non-refundable and valid for the date booked at the time of purchase (less flexible so in case of problems with travel).

Based on these evaluations, which are purely subjective, you can best choose the pass best suited for your travel characteristics and needs.

What does it include?

The Hola Barcelona Travel Card is a season ticket that allows unlimited travel on the city's entire public transport network.
Subway, trains, buses, streetcars, and the Montjuïc funicular.
It covers much of zone A, which is very large, and usually more than enough for tourist needs unless you are staying very far out of town.
The pass also covers the connection to and from El Prat Airport, but exclusively by metro or train.
The Aerobus, considered the most convenient and direct way to reach the center, is not included.
Night buses (NitBus) are not included either, as they are operated by a different company than standard Barcelona urban transport.
